There are many
stories in the Old Testament that speak to us here in the last days of earth's
history. There is a story in the law that needs attention called to it.
"Now all these things happened unto them for types: and they are written for our
admonition upon whom the ends of the world are come." I Cor. 10:11. The
fore-fathers of Abraham dwelt in the providence of Babylon, "Ur of the Chaldees".
Terah was of the righteous line from which our Saviour came, surely he was
concerned with the influences around him. Noah had just past on two years
before Abraham was born, and the influence of Nimrod had grown rapidly. Thus
Terah started making his way out of the providence of Babylon to the land of
Canaan. Terah made great headway, and came along way out, but he never made it
completely out. As Scripture records that he came unto Haran, and dwelt there,
and Terah died in Haran. Genesis 11:31, 32
"Now YAHUWAH had said unto Abraham, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy
kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee. And I
will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name
great; and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and
curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be
blessed." Genesis 12:1-3
"Because that Abraham obeyed My voice, and kept My charge, My commandments, My
statutes, and My laws." Genesis 26:5
"So Abraham departed, as YAHUWAH had spoken unto him." Genesis 12:4
YAHUWAH is speaking to us the same way, with a strong voice, here in the last
days. Saying, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made
all nations drink the wine (doctrine) of the wrath of her fornication."
Revelation 14:8
The true faith was suppressed down to almost nothing during the Dark Ages, and
since the Reformation the truth has been shining a little more and a little more
leading us back to the faith of the apostles and YAHUSHUA Himself. Because
"the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto
the perfect day." Proverbs 4:18. Has the perfect day come yet? Is He not then
still shining more and more light upon us? Is He not then still calling, Come
out of her My people?
Our spiritual
forefathers have brought us a long way out of the providence of Babylon. But we
still have not reached Canaan. We must move by faith in His Holy Word. The
true church, or I should say, the true congregation is not Babylon. His people
are not Babylon. Yet His people are in the providence of Babylon making their
way out.
Our forefathers "were responsible only for the light which shone in their time;
we are accountable for that which shines in our day. If we turn from the
testimony of (Elohim's) word, and accept false doctrines because our fathers
taught them, we fall under the condemnation pronounced upon Babylon; we are
drinking of the wine of her abomination." Great Controversy p. 536, 537
"There are
many at the present day thus clinging to the customs and traditions of their
fathers. When (YAHUWAH) sends them additional light, they refuse to accept it,
because, not having been granted to their fathers, it was not received by them.
We are not placed where our fathers were; consequently our duties and
responsibilities are not the same as theirs. We shall not be approved of (Elohim)
in looking to the example of our fathers to determine our duty instead of
searching the Word of truth for ourselves. Our responsibility is greater than
was that of our ancestors. We are accountable for the light which they
received, and which was handed down as an inheritance for us, and we are
accountable also for the additional light which is now shining upon us from the
word of (Elohim)." GC 164
"And Joshua
gathered all the tribes of Israel . . . and Joshua said unto all the people,
Thus saith YAHUWAH Elohim of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the
flood (or river) in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father
of Nachor: and they served other gods. . . . Now therefore fear YAHUWAH and
serve Him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers
served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye YAHUWAH. And
if it seem evil unto you to serve YAHUWAH, choose you this day whom ye will
serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of
the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me
and my house, we will serve YAHUWAH." Ioshua 24:1, 2, 14, 15
"In amazement
they hear the testimony that Babylon is the church, fallen because of her errors
and sins, because of her rejection of the truth sent her from heaven." Great
Controversy p. 607. The Sacred Name of YAHUWAH is a truth shining upon us, and
is given to distinguish between false deities, just as it was in old time.
The feast days
in Exodus 23 and Leviticus 23 are principles of the fourth commandment,
according to Patriarchs & Prophets p. 310, which you should have noticed by the
very word "sabbath" (Lev. 23:24, 32, 39; 25:4)
"He did not
stop with giving them the precepts of the Decalogue. . . . These directions
relating to the duty of the people to (Elohim), to one another, and to the
stranger were only the principles of the Ten Commandments amplified and given in
a specific manner, that none need err. They were designed to guard the
sacred-ness of the ten precepts engraved on the tables of stone." Patriarchs &
Prophets p. 364
"Different
periods in the history of the church have each been marked by the development of
some special truth, adapted to the necessities of (Elohim's) people at that
time. Every new truth has made it's way against hatred and opposition; those
who were blessed with it's light were tempted and tried. (YAHUWAH) gives a
special truth for the people in an emergency. Who dare refuse to publish it?
He commands His servants to present the last invitation of mercy to the world.
They cannot remain silent, except at the peril of their souls. (Messiah's)
ambassadors have nothing to do with consequences. They must perform their duty,
and leave the results with (Elohim). . . . Their testimony is: 'We dare not
tamper with (Elohim's) word, dividing His holy law: calling one portion
essential and the other non-essential, to gain the favor of the world'." Great
Controversy 609, 10
Their creed is the Scriptures, "And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on mount
Zion, and with him an hundred and forty and four thousand, having His Father's
name written in their foreheads." Revelation 14:1
"These are they which are not defiled with women (or churches) for they are
virgins." In Bible prophecy, a woman is symbolic for a church, as in Jer. 6:2 &
Rev. 17:4. "These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth." Rev
14:4. Notice they do not follow men or denominations whithersoever they goeth!
These are they that heed the call to come out of the fallen churches (Babylon).
"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of
Elohim, and the faith of YAHUSHUA." Revelation 14:12
"Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our Elohim would count you worthy
of this calling, and fulfill all the goodness, and the work of faith with power
That the name of our Sovereign YAHUSHUA the Messiah may be glorified in you and
ye in Him, according to the grace of our Elohim and Sovereign YAHUSHUA the
